Chris studied architecture at Sheffield University where he graduated with distinction and won an award for his Diploma project, which was also nominated for a RIBA President's Silver Medal. He qualified as an architect in September 2007.

Post diploma, Chris worked for a small architectural practice in London, gaining experience in residential work before joining ECA in 2005. He has been involved in a number of winning competition schemes and has worked in the project teams for the New Gateway to Petra, in Jordan and a new Visitor Gateway Building for the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh.

He has been a full-time member of the project team for New Herbarium at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and was project architect for the Aerial Walkway for the National Forest Foundation, which was awarded detailed planning approval in January 2009. Before going on sabbatical in March, Chris was Project Architect on Forest Gate Community School, part of the Building Schools for the Future investment programme.

Chris is part of the ECA's PR & Marketing Team and Green Team.
