Colin joined Edward Cullinan Architects in 1988 to work as site architect on Ready Mixed Concrete HQ, bringing a wealth of experience in building construction gleaned from six years investigating and remedying defects in buildings.
Colin has since worked on many projects, most recently leading the urban regeneration projects in Bristol Harbourside, Gloucester Docks and Penarth. He was project architect for award-winning buildings at St John's College and the Divinity Faculty in Cambridge.
His particular interest is in seeing the process of design through to construction, whether at the level of fine detail or major projects. His interest in the process of building has led him to take on the Practice Manager role where his responsibilities cover the practices processes, standards and resources. He took the Project Management course at Reading University in 1998. He represents the office on various research and Knowledge Management issues, taking part in a DTI research project "Spreading the Word" in 2004/5.
"For me, architecture is the art of beautiful building: I love buildings which express how they're made, what they do and that weather well."
