Javier studied Architecture at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and completed his MSc in Environmental Design and Engineering at the Bartlett in London. Before coming to the UK, Javier worked as an Architect in Mexico on various projects in the US, Spain and Egypt.
Javier joined ECA in April 2007 working both as an Architectural Assistant and Sustainability expert. Most recently he was Project Architect of the Weald and Downland Access Project and provides Sustainability Consultancy on many of the ECA's projects. His advice varies from weather analysis, identification of potential passive technologies to Code for Sustainable Homes Assessments and environmental computer simulation analysis. Javier is a registered CSH, EcoHomes and iSBEM - EPC Assessor.
Javier is currently on sabbatical in Mexico where he is teaching part-time and continues in his role as our sustainability consultant.
Javier also has a passion for family, exercise, reading and painting. He was a professional cyclist and still does some racing including duathlons and triathlons. He is a co-author on a book for Contemporary Architecture in Mexico.
