Philip joined ECA in 2006 following training at the University of Sheffield School of Architecture, the Universitatea de Arhitectura si Urbanism "Ion Mincu" in Bucharest, Romania and at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He became a member of the firm in 2007 and has been predominantly involved with the practice's office and workplace projects.

Recent work at ECA has included a new library and IT centre for Fitzwilliam College Cambridge, a masterplan for the Chinese University of Hong Kong, a new HQ office building for Nottinghill Housing Group (London) as well as taking a lead role in the design of the main office building for ECA's masterplan at Masshouse Circus, Birmingham. Philip is currently part of the project team working on a sustainable masterplan for the expansion of the town of Shahat, in Libya. He qualified as an Architect in 2008 and is also a member of ECA's design management team. His MArch research thesis concerned the subject of Urbicide deliberate urban and architectural manipulation for political gain.

Before joining ECA Philip worked in Seattle (USA), Sheffield and London, with independent project management and building projects undertaken in Edinburgh and south Wales. Philip also paints in oils and exhibits his work in the UK and online. Prior to starting architectural training, he served as an officer in the Royal Artillery.
