Sophia graduated from The Bartlett, University College London, in 2008 with a first class honours degree.

Before joining ECA in August 2009, she spent a year as an architectural assistant at two practices consecutively, Michael Jones Architects and MYAA (Mangera Yvars Architects). Previous to this, she also gained experience from two placements, at Rogers Stirk Harbour and Partners (then Richard Rogers Partnership), and Blauel Architects.

During the Summer of 2008, Sophia travelled to Japan, to attend a design and build workshop in a rural village in Niigata, during which she learnt the art of traditional Japanese Joinery. During the Summer of 2009, she travelled to New York, to Theatre Director Robert Wilson's Watermill Centre, to construct her own installation for a large performance. She also assisted with the building of other pieces, by internationally renowned artists.

Currently at ECA, Sophia has worked on two competition entries, a large housing project in Bristol and she is currently part of the team working on a masterplan for the sustainable expansion of the town of Shahat in Libya.
