Wen studied at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, and later fully qualified as an architect while working at ECA in 1989. In the early 1990's, she enjoyed 2 years in Edinburgh, and 6 years in Berlin.

Wen rejoined ECA in 1998, working on Cambridge University's Centre for Mathematical Sciences, and then went on to become Project Architect on the second Library phase.

Wen worked on the Singapore Management University's new campus, and on the Bristol Harbourside project. Wen is currently managing the design for the Penarth Heights residential development in south Wales.
