PROJECT: A Fourth Grace for Liverpool

LOCATION: Liverpool

DATE: 2002

As part of the Liverpool City of Culture 2008 celebrations we were one of four practices short-listed to design Liverpool's Fourth Grace (the others were Rogers, Fosters and Will Alsop).

The Fourth Grace would have been situated next to the three buildings which offer the definitive image of Liverpool: the Royal Liver Building; the Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool Building, together known as "The Three Graces".

ECA teamed up with a developer to create a vision for an iconic forty storey complex, comprising residential units, offices, retail courts, hotel, theatre and Maritime Museum. The project was cancelled and a modest museum is under construction.
