The International Manufacturing Centre at the University of Warwick was the first building within a new phase of the University's masterplan. The £11m building houses manufacturing technology, teaching and research facilities arranged in two spine wings, flanking a 4-storey high engineering hall housing machinery and testing facilities.
The building has been built in three phases; the first in 1994, the second in 1996, and the third completed in 2002. During the third phase significant cost and time savings were achieved as well as improving on the energy performance of the building.
Phase 3 has recently been adopted as a Demonstration Project by the Movement for Innovation (M4i) in the Midlands, a government sponsored organisation promoting best practice in procurement and construction.
