PROJECT: International Digital Laboratory

LOCATION: University of Warwick

DATE: 2006 - 2008

The International Digital Laboratory (IDL) was completed in July 2008 and provides a high quality research and knowledge transfer environment allowing researchers to develop techniques that will place consumers right inside a "mass customization" production process for a vast range of future products.

The new IDL is the second building ECA have designed for the Warwick Manufacturing Group. Set at right angles to the first building, the 10,700m2 International Manufacturing Centre, together they create a shared forecourt that leads into a new academic court.

More information about the lab is available on the University's website and a case study of the lab is on the Design Quality Indicator for Schools website.
