PROJECT: Stonebridge Hillside Hub

LOCATION: London

DATE: 2005 - 2009

The Stonebridge Hillside Hub is a mixed use building in Stonebridge, north west London. Two 'wings' accommodate a health centre and a retail unit, both topped with mixed tenure residential units and fused together by a central community facility.

The health centre houses the Brent Primary Care Trust with departments for Dentistry, Podiatry, General Practitioners, District Nursing, Women's Services and a Baby Clinic. The design was developed through a series of consultative workshops with the healthcare professionals that have gone on to use the building.

The PCT covers 2,000sqm over 3 floors and was recently awarded an 'Excellent' NEAT (NHS Environmental Assessment Tool) rating. The building incorporates a mixed mode passive ventilation system and has exceptionally high insulated walls.

The Hillside Hub won the Mail on Sunday British Homes Award for Mixed-use Regeneration Development of the Year 2009.
