PROJECT: Chinese University of Hong Kong Masterplan

LOCATION: Hong Kong

DATE: 2007 - 2009

To provide sufficient accommodation for the increase in population from 19,000 to 27,000, we have provided the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a planning framework for their campus. The proposal provides around 100,000sqm of mixed academic accommodation.

A new square is proposed to the east, from which a promenade of open courts and stepped accommodation cascade towards the sports field. A new library building will connect through another building to a raised podium that will be the springboard for a future link to the eastern Campus.

The new courts are connected to adjoining buildings as amenity spaces and benefit from the onshore breezes channelled along the promenade.
