PROJECT: The Meadows

The Meadows is a competition scheme in Nottingham, designed to achieve Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4. Through incorporation of solar water heating panels, biomass boilers, low-energy appliances, low water usage, rainwater harvesting and convenient cycle storage, our proposal enables a reduced energy lifestyle.

The scheme includes 37 homes - 16 two-bed, 13 three-bed and 8 four-bed. The two-bed and three-bed houses are a simple L-shape in plan, folded around a raised sun-collecting courtyard, or small garden.
